About Us

Gumbu Gumbu bugang bulmba means eating place in the Yidan language. This cafe is the creation of Keith & Felicity who have spent more than 40 years using locally sourced indigenous ingredients to give a unique eating experience for those looking for a culinary adventure.

When I’m not cooking I get agitated, I have the need to cook, I was born to cook. So yes, this is a passion of ours and we just want to see visitors have a tasty experience of a menu that now has these locally sourced and native rare and exotic ingredients, that cannot be experienced anywhere else but here in the tropics.

Chef, Gumbu Gumbu

What We Do

Gumbu Gumbu Cafe is simple, we want to give the best lunchtime experience for those visiting Cairns. It’s operations are designed at this stage for morning coffees & pastries and midday dining.

All foods are made on site everyday. Fresh food!

It is important to know that the focus is giving visitors a wonderful lunch experience. Due to seasonal availability and harvesting times lunches are limited, which means get in early!

Bookings are recommended and welcomed.
